Ever heard of the saying, “laughter is the best medicine?” Well, that was true Wednesday, Nov. 15 when Comedian Lafayette Wright made everyone’s night more enjoyable.

Wright is a comic from Washington, D.C. that has a vibrant sense of humor, smooth delivery, with a lot of pop culture references. Wright has been in the comedy business for years, previously opening for some well-known comedians, including Kevin Hart and Wanda Sykes.

Wright also appeared on Hart’s Comedy Central show, “Hart of the City,” where comedians from different cities would perform a stand-up comedy set.

“I didn’t expect him to be so funny, but this was definitely worth putting my physics book down,” said Sophomore Zak Harwood, an engineering major.

Throughout the event, which was filled with hysterical laughter and personal jokes toward those in the crowd, I realized that Wright had the room jubilant with laughter on a rainy, dreary, and cold Wednesday night.
