Student Involvement and Leadership (SIL) is hosting ‘Celebrating Wolverine Excellence’, an award ceremony taking place on Thursday, Apr. 11 in the Northbank Center Ballroom at 6 p.m.

This event serves to shine a light on the leaders within the UM-Flint community. Students, student organizations, faculty and staff all hold nominations for the accolades being celebrated.

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Dr. Christopher M. Giordano, and Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan E. Alcock will be  presenting the awards for the following categories:

  • Outstanding Student Organization
  • Outstanding Student Leader
  • Fraternity Man of the Year
  • Sorority Woman of the Year
  • Outstanding Student Org Advisor
  • Inclusive Community
  • Emerging Leader
  • Student Leader Community Contribution
  • Student Org Community Contribution
  • Club Sports MVP
  • Club Sports Officer Leadership

At the award ceremony, Italian inspired cuisine provided by Picasso will be served, along with entertainment provided by The Octaves, UM-Flint’s acapella club. In addition to this, Nickxit Bhardwaj, Student Government’s newly elected president, will also be giving a musical performance.

SIL Program Assistant Faith Bodie, and one of award ceremony organizers, is looking forward to the event.
