Grab a Putter, Swing into Summer with UM-Flint Golf League
April 22, 2019
For those of you still reeling from Tiger Woods’ 2019 Masters win–arguably one of the best comebacks in sports history–consider trying your luck by joining UM-Flint’s golf league.
Currently, in the process of being formed, the league is open to students, staff, faculty and members of the community.
“The golf league is a great experience for students to get involved in this summer (and a great excuse to get outside),” said UM-Flint Recreation Center’s Customer Service Specialist Kassi Bremer. “It is fun competition that can be shared with fellow students and the community.
“The sport of golf is great because no matter your experience level, it is a sport that all can feel welcome to participate [in].”
While spots are limited, openings still remain for the league. The price is $300 per golfer, which is required at the time of signing up. The organized competition will last for 15 weeks, and the use of a cart is included in the price.
If you are interested in partnering up with someone that is also joining the league, you can provide that information upon registration.
“At $300 for a full 15 weeks, that comes down to only $20 per week,” said Bremer.
Sign up soon as Thursday, May 2 is the opening day of competition, starting at 3 p.m. The action will be held at the IMA Brookwood Golf Course, located at 6045 Davison Rd. in Burton.
For further information as well as to register, visit the Recreation Center’s main office or call 810-762-3441.
