On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Student Government President Nickxit Bhardwaj will give the annual State of the Student Address.

The address gives the president an opportunity to let those on campus know what Student Government is currently doing and what they plan to do for the remainder of the academic year.

Bhardwaj is focusing on explaining how Student Government affects student life saying, “If a student walks into the campus at 8 in the morning and leaves at 5 in the evening, what does student government do to help them?”

Along with the president’s speech, there will be a Q&A session. Besides members from Student Government, university administrative staff have been invited to answer student questions. Bhardwaj hopes that the varied panel will allow students to get in touch with department heads and deans.

Due to travel conflicts, Chancellor Dutta will not attend, but members of his cabinet have been invited.

“I think it’s very important for students to understand that we are here–to take care of their concerns and to work with the administration,” said Bhardwaj.

The State of the Student Address will be in Michigan Rooms A-C from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Food will be provided.
