In an effort to comply with COVID-19 regulations in the state of Michigan, UM-Flint is limiting the amount of employees on campus, as well as making more resources remote for the safety of all campus members.
Effective Tuesday, March 24 through Monday, April 13, the following changes have been made:
CAPS: Counseling services are now remote and running on normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.). For those who need to get in contact with CAPS, they can be reached at (810) 762-3456. If you need to get a hold of CAPS outside of normal hours, contact the UM-Flint Department of Public Safety instead at (810) 762-3333 or, in the case of an emergency, please call 911.
Disability and Accessibility Support Services: For individuals needing to get in contact with DASS, they are now operating remotely within their normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.). They can also be reached at their temporary phone number (810) 275-0423 and via email.
Academic Support: For students needing supplemental instruction, group tutoring, individual tutoring or are using math labs, these services are now available online only. To make an appointment for individual tutoring sessions, you can visit their website. For those who have immediate math questions, visit the online math lab through Blackboard Collaborate.
Wolverine Food Den: Open to all students, faculty and staff, the UM-Flint food pantry will remain open Monday through Friday, 1-3 p.m.. Students must come through the UCEN entrance and swipe their M-Card. All interactions within the food pantry will follow social distancing protocols.
Student Health Insurance: For students needing immediate health insurance coverage at this time, the University of Michigan Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan will soon be scheduling an open enrollment period for those in need. Details will be sent by email within the coming weeks.
Grocery Store Transport: Using Safe Ride, DPS will provide daily transportation to Walmart for students near or on campus who need groceries. The shuttle will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. every day at the Riverfront entrance.
Picasso Food Service: Picasso will continue their service for students residing in Riverfront only. For students in the other residence hall, they should have received an email for a meal order form, an online grocery order form and more information regarding delivery days, times and locations. These delivery services are free of charge.
Computer Labs: If you are in need of a computer lab, they are now exclusively available in the Riverfront Center in rooms 2341 and 2401. Both labs are accessible 24/7 with the swipe of an M-Card.
Advising Appointments: Academic advising appointments will continue to be held remotely and are available during normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.). If needing immediate assistance, students should contact their advisor.
In addition to these changes, all in-person campus events, meetings and programs are cancelled for the remainder of the Winter 2020 semester. For those who reserved an event space, the reservation has been cancelled.

While this transition may be difficult for many, the university is trying to make things as safe as possible for everyone, as well as support those who need it during this unpredictable time.
