Flint, Michigan – Due to bad weather, the University of Michigan-Flint announced they would open the doors later than usual on Tuesday, January 23. All activities and classes previously scheduled to take place in the morning hours will be canceled, and campus doors will remain closed.

Due to forecasted inclement weather, the University of Michigan-Flint’s campus will have a delayed reopening, tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 12 p.m.
Please be aware that all classes – including in-person and online synchronous – will not begin until 12 p.m. Prior to 12 p.m., all campus buildings will be closed, as well as off-campus teaching and community learning sites, including all high school DEEP and early college courses.
On-campus food service – Picasso at UCEN and Clint’s Cafe – will be available beginning at 12 p.m. Blue Bistro in the William S. White Building will be closed.
Until 12 p.m., university faculty and staff should perform work duties remotely (with the exception of teaching courses as outlined above) and contact their chair/supervisor if they have questions. Those staff members performing essential tasks on campus should report to the university in accordance with existing departmental protocols and procedures.

School closures in Flint area due to bad weather on January 23
According to mLive, Richfield Public School Academy, Grand Blanc Academy, Faith Baptist School decided to remain closed on Tuesday, while Mott Community College will only suspend childcare operations.
A winter weather advisory will remain in effect from midnight on Monday night to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23 for Shiawassee, Genesee and Lapeer counties, according to the National Weather Service.

It will cause hazardous travel that can impact the morning commute. A mix of snow and sleet of two to four inches and a tenth of an inch of ice accumulations are expected.
