Detroit, Michigan – The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is launching its 2024 Winter at Valade celebration with a fire and ice themed event.
This festival is set to happen at Robert C. Valade Park, offering activities for families from January 5th to 7th, including a medieval-themed festival.
This marks the beginning of a series of four Winter at Valade themed weekends.

“The Detroit Riverfront is proud to provide our guests with programming to enjoy year-round,” said Rachel Frierson, director of programming. “Winter has become a busy season for people visiting the Detroit Riverfront. We expanded upon some of most popular components of last year’s Fire & Ice Festival and are introducing new ones, so we are excited to welcome people to our first themed weekend of the year.”
The weekend’s festivities will feature ice sculpture contests, live music, wandering performers in costumes and renaissance outfits, among other attractions.
