Flint, Michigan – The Genesee County Health Department (GCHD) has said announced it will be closed to the public for a short time while it gets ready to relocate into its new home in downtown Flint. All public health services, including those at the Burton Clinic, will be closed from August 1 to August 8 while staff and operations move to the newly renovated Genesee County Administration Building.
The new building, located at 324 S. Saginaw Street, will have the GCHD on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors. County officials have advised residents to plan ahead and take care of any urgent health department needs before the closure begins.
This is a big step toward making services easier to get to and more efficient across the county. After the move is finished, individuals will be able to get to a single health department in the center of Flint that is better suited to accommodate the changing requirements of the community.
The new downtown location is planned to be fully open to the public on Monday, August 11. You can get updates and more information on the transition at 1836 Place or on the county’s official website, GeneseeCountyMI.gov, in the meantime.
