Detroit teams up with Lions to release coloring book celebrating 2024 season highlights

Detroit, Michigan – The City of Detroit and the Detroit Lions are working together to provide supporters, especially youngsters, a fun way to remember the team’s great 2024 season. The Detroit Office of Arts, Culture, and Entrepreneurship (Detroit ACE) has put together a coloring book that anyone can download. It shows some of the best parties from last year, right in time for the Lions’ 2025 season.

The book has drawings of the team’s most popular moments that helped them become successful. One of them is running back David Montgomery’s spectacular overtime score against the Los Angeles Rams, which made Ford Field go wild last September. Another page shows head coach Dan Campbell getting the game ball from quarterback Jared Goff after the Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys badly in October.

There is also a picture of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown doing a headstand in the end zone at Lambeau Field, which rapidly became popular with fans. The last highlight features rookie star Jahmyr Gibbs enjoying his fourth touchdown in a big win over the Minnesota Vikings in January. This win gave the Lions their second straight NFC North crown.

The project isn’t only about remembering the past; it’s also about getting people to think outside the box and getting to know the community better. Families and kids across Michigan are urged to download the coloring book at detroitartsandculture.com, add their own touches to the pictures, and send screenshots of their work with their name, age, and hometown to [email protected]. Some contributions will be shown on the Detroit ACE website.

“There has never been a season like this, but we’re ready for a season to beat it and many more celebrations like this,” said the City’s Director of Arts and Culture Rochelle Riley, a Lions season-ticket holder and Aidan Hutchinson’s biggest fan. “Our goal is to make sure that every person, whether they are at Ford Field, at a tailgate, in front of a TV or watching on a phone, preserves that memory while making some new ones come September!”

With the Lions set to begin another promising season, the coloring book offers a unique way for fans to carry the excitement from last year into the months ahead. For Detroit, it’s more than football—it’s about blending sports, art, and community pride into one shared celebration.
