Michigan – Amtrak has stopped train services in Michigan due to expected snowy, icy, and rainy weather.
Trains won’t run on Sunday and Monday, Jan. 21-22, because of the winter conditions. This decision is to keep passengers and staff safe, Amtrak announced on Sunday.
All Wolverine Service trains, numbers 351, 352, 353, and 354, going from Chicago to Pontiac were not running on Sunday. For Monday, trains 351, 352, and 353 are also canceled.

The National Weather Service says a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will likely affect southwest Michigan from Monday to Tuesday.
Areas south of I-96 might get ice on Tuesday morning. North of I-96, there could be one to three inches of snow.

Amtrak Midwest(sm) service continues to recover from the extreme cold conditions across the region last week. Select trains will operate on these routes, but those trains listed below are canceled or represented by chartered buses as substitute transportation.
Chicago-St. Louis:
- Trains 300, 301, 302, 305, 306 & 307 on Monday, January 22, are canceled in their entirety.
Chicago-Detroit-Pontiac:
- Trains 351, 352, 353 & 354 on Monday, January 22, will be represented by chartered buses.
St. Louis-Kansas City:
- Trains 311 & 316 on Monday, January 22, are canceled in their entirety.
Chicago-Milwaukee:
- Trains 330, 334 & 338 on Monday, January 22, are canceled in their entirety. Trains 331, 335, 339 & 342 will be represented by chartered buses.
Chicago-Quincy:
- Train 381 on Monday, January 22, will be represented by chartered buses.
- Train 382 on Monday, January 22, is canceled in its entirety.
Chicago-Carbondale:
- Train 390 on Monday, January 22, is canceled in its entirety.
