Flint, Michigan – Registration is now open for Flint ReCAST’s 2026 S.T.R.O.N.G. Summit series, giving Genesee County residents a chance to take part in a community-centered effort focused on healing, youth support and stronger family connections.
The summit will begin with two evening workshops at the Sloan Museum of Discovery. The first session is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, and the second for Thursday, May 27. Both will run from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The series will then close with a Family Fun Day celebration on Thursday, June 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Flint Farmers Market.
Registration is required, and space is limited. Residents can sign up through the S.T.R.O.N.G. Summit 2026 registration link.
The name S.T.R.O.N.G. stands for Supporting Togetherness, Resiliency, Opportunity, Networking, and Growth. This year’s series is built around a simple but important goal: helping young people and the adults around them better understand mental wellness, communication and support.

Through the first two workshops, youth, parents, caregivers and trusted adults will have space to look at mental wellness from more than one angle. The sessions are designed to reduce stigma, build trust and give participants practical tools they can carry into homes, schools and neighborhoods.
Dinner will be provided at each workshop. Childcare will also be available during the Parent & Caregiver session, making it easier for adults to attend and fully participate.
The final gathering at Flint Farmers Market will shift the mood from learning to celebration. Families can expect a lively evening with a petting zoo, pony rides, carnival-style games, food trucks and complimentary family photos.
Behind the summit is Flint ReCAST, short for Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma. The program works with high-risk youth and families while supporting Flint’s broader recovery through resilience and equity.
Its priorities include behavioral health, race and equity, youth development, public safety and violence prevention. In that way, the summit is more than a set of events. It is part of a wider effort to help residents feel heard, supported and connected.
This year also carries special meaning. It marks the final year the City of Flint and ReCAST will host the S.T.R.O.N.G. Summit together.
