Flint, Michigan – At its much-awaited multi-industry employment fair on Tuesday, November 26, Mott Community College (MCC) is getting ready to link companies with prospective job seekers. Set for the main campus of MCC in Flint, the event is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair is being held as part of the college’s recognition of National Apprenticeship Week 2024.
“This career fair provides an opportunity to explore what apprenticeships are, learn about on-the-job training, and connect with local and regional employers actively hiring,” said Tyler Kraus, Supervisor of Student Employment Services for MCC’s Workforce and Economic Development Division. “We recommend that attendees dress for success, come with multiple copies of their resumes, and be prepared to interview,” he added.
Since the event is free and open to the public, it is easily available to students, new graduates, and members of communities at various phases of their professional path. There is no pre-registration needed, so every guest will have simple access.
Robert Matthews, MCC’s Associate Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development, claims that a great variety of businesses have been carefully picked for the career fair.
“Our team has worked diligently to bring together a diverse group of employers to give students, recent graduates, and community members an opportunity to connect with top employers in a variety of industries,” Matthews said. “Whether just starting a career journey or looking to grow, the multi-industry career fair is a chance to build connections and take the first step toward a successful future,” he added.
Attendees can expect representation from notable organizations across healthcare, manufacturing, public safety, and more. Employers such as McLaren Flint, Hurley Medical Center, Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity, and Rolls Mechanical will be on hand to discuss openings and apprenticeship programs. Among several other partnering companies are Genesee County, Hamilton Community Health Network, and Aflac.
