City of Flint provides reminders on Thanksgiving week closures and service adjustments

Flint, Michigan – Flint residents should plan ahead since City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 28th, and Friday, November 29th in observance of Thanksgiving. Operations at City Hall will resume on Monday, December 2nd, during regular business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A red drop box in front of City Hall will remain accessible for those who have to submit payments or send letters during the closure. Water payments, property tax filings, and other necessary papers can all be paid for from this box so residents may manage pressing needs without disturbance.

While most municipal offices will be closed, vital services including police, fire, water supply operations, and the wastewater treatment facility will remain fully staffed and running around-the-clock. These departments will keep giving the community constant support throughout the holiday.

Also impacted will be the Customer Service Center on Clio Road, which closes Thanksgiving Day. To help residents with their needs, the facility will reopen Friday, November 29th, and Saturday, November 30th though.

Residents should also be aware of changes made to the Thanksgiving week Priority Waste collecting plan. Usually set for Thursday, trash, recycling, and compost pickups will take place one day later on Friday, November 29. Friday’s usual pickups will also move to Saturday, November 30th. Beginning the week of December 2nd, collection services will resume their regular calendar.
