Memorial Day in Flint brings solemn reflection and adjusted public service hours

Flint, Michigan – On Monday, May 26, 2025, Flint City Hall will be closed for Memorial Day. Because to this yearly closure, all of City Hall’s administrative offices will be closed for business throughout the holiday. Normal business will start up again on Tuesday, May 27, when workers and authorities go back to their usual schedules.

Memorial Day serves as a solemn occasion across the nation—a day dedicated to honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States. Flint city officials are encouraging residents to take the time to reflect on the meaning of the day and, if possible, join in community events commemorating fallen military personnel.

City Hall will be closed, but Flint will still have access to important services during the holiday. Police, fire, and other important departments will keep working to keep the public safe and the city’s infrastructure in good shape.

Flint residents should also know that trash and recycling services will be changing for a short time. Because Memorial Day is on a Monday, Priority Waste will move its regular pickup day back by one day. This delay will effect the pickup of garbage, compost, and recycling this week, but the normal schedule will start again next week.
