Holiday schedule for city hall and services

Flint City Hall and the Flint Customer Service Center on Clio Road will celebrate the holidays by closing on December 24 and 25 for Christmas and on December 31 and January 1 for the New Year’s festivities. Residents can still use the red drop box fronting City Hall to send letters, property taxes, and water payments during closures. It’s important to note that essential services such as police, fire departments, water service centers, and wastewater plants will remain operational around the clock.

Beginning Monday, January 6, 2025, City Hall will again run its usual hours of operation, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Adjustments to waste collection

The festive season also brings changes to Flint’s trash collecting schedule. The Christmas and New Year’s holidays respectively will cause services to be delayed one day on December 25 and January 1. To check the updated pickup times for their particular service regions, residents are asked to look up the waste collecting map of the city. Normal trash collecting will start on January 6’s week.

In addition, Priority Waste will be gathering Christmas trees—free of ornaments and lights—during the three weeks following Christmas as part of the holiday services for the city. All waste should be disposed out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on planned collecting days to guarantee seamless servicing.

Residents with questions or reports of service issues during the holidays can contact the city’s waste management services at (810) 410-1134. The official city website offers further details regarding Flint’s sanitation services.
