Genesee County welcomes Ted Henry to three-year term on Soldiers Relief Commission starting January 2025

Genesee County, Michigan – Ted Henry, an experienced public servant with deep ties to Genesee County, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Genesee County Soldiers Relief Commission. Effective January 2025, the appointment signifies yet another phase in Henry’s dedication to serving his community—especially its veterans. Probate Judge Ariana Heath administered the oath of office during a ceremony on December 19, 2024.

Currently serving Clayton Township as Supervisor and former Genesee County Commissioner, Henry will join the three-member board assigned to assist area veterans in need of help. His appointment completes the seat left open by Frederick Caruso, who completed his term with distinction. Over the past three years, Caruso has made significant contributions to the Commission.

Support of veterans inside the county has been significantly improved by the Soldiers Relief Commission. The Commission distributed around $60,000 in relief money in 2024 alone, giving service personnel much-needed financial help. Along with fellow Commission members Raymond Jefferson and Sherwood Pea, Henry will be working with fellow veterans.

For veterans dealing with difficulties, the Genesee County Soldiers Relief Commission has long been a lifeline, guiding them toward utilities, housing, and other basics. The activities of the Commission highlight the need of community-based projects in tackling veterans’ issues.
